i went to see the deftones on dec 2 at the electric factory in philly and then on dec 6 at sayerville, nj at the starland ballroom. the show in philly was by far the best ive seen the deftones since 98 when they came out wit ATF. they were on in philly and had so much friggan energy, i thought i was looking at a totally new band. i have been pretty disappointed in the way they have been playing etc the fact that they never changed up the setlist and had no energy. but they broke out wit old school tunes like root and minus blindfold. the deftones are back and kicking some major ass. this is why they are the best band in the world. the set list was opening wit rats rats rats, kim dracula, digital bath, summer, drive, fur, beware, nosebleed, engine 9, exerces, passanger, hole in the earth, root, minus blind, minerva, hexagram, cherry waves, change, 7 words. i havent seen them play for 2 hours in the longest time then the show in sayerville nj on dec 6th. i drove 2 hrs just to see them at a venue i had never been to. this time round i brought my girlfriend to see them cuz i had gotten her to hear their music and she was into it. well we got up to the front and she was going nuts, now she wants all of their cds. her and i agreed that they sounded friggan amazing and just looked like they were having a good time. i havent seen chino get into the crowd in a long time. the only thing about the show i didnt like were the lighting system. the light show was terrible i couldnt see the band half the time. but deftones you did it again another amazing show -frank

This concert was amazing,the deftones were on and chinos vocals were amazing, all the new songs kicked ass.
They played music from every album allot from adrenaline, and around the fur plus the new album.
Carpenter's guitars and effects were amazing they played for 2 hours it was sick, the mosh pit was alive and rumbling its way thru the whole floor area it was a sight to see. This has been the best show I have seen in the electric factory since I saw the in june, of 2000 for the white pony tour.Whoever said the deftones went soft def has not seen them live lately they were fucking sick, I wish I could see them again like tonight or tomorrow. I only hope to see them soon cause this their performance last night blew me away, and it was my sixth time seeing them.

So last night was the 32nd time I've seen Deftones. I'm amazed I've been seeing this band for the past 11 years. Actually, after seeing them twice on the Taste of Chaos tour back in March, I was ready to give up on them. I thought the 2 shows I saw them play on that tour were absolutely horrible, and I just figured they gave up. So after hearing SNW I decided to give them another chance with seeing them live. I was totally blown away. It's like watching a different band out there. Chino sounds amazing. (well, as amazing as he can sound...let's be honest, he can't hit the high notes like he used to.) The new songs from SNW sound amazing as well. They pretty much played every song I wanted them to play ( Combat would have made it my favorite setlist ever)...my favorites from the new album, as well as my favorite old songs. Passenger was amazing. Chino did Maynard's parts really well. I was shocked. I'm going to try to get the setlist in the right order, but it will definitely be messed up. Sorry. Rats! Rats! Rats! my neck is killing me. i didnt stretch it before the deftones came on stage.
it was all good times last nite. they sounded tight as usual. they just give me this energy when they play live. me and my boy were just going nuts.
chino didnt really say much to the crowd. i love the setlist. i got a lil of everything. main highlight for me was hearing Cherry Waves- thats my favorite new track, but i got pissed the whole crowd wasnt responding. it was like i was the only was singing "you oooooo", i hope heads buy the new album, i think its their best. it pisses me off that they have to play Change every nite in order to get some singing... i got a hot tee, (cassette
tape) and this rare poster made for the boston and philly gigs. only 50 for each city. it looks like 2 bunnies fucking. i think this was the setlist in order... Rats is such a fucking rush as an opener... and No Feiticiera? i think this is my first tones show with that song dropped. id like to hear Mein or Combat. and Dai the Flu would be nice. DEFTONES start playing that shit!
