I'll only accept reviews from recent shows!
Deftones kicked off their tour at the Coca Cola Events center in Bricktown, OKC, Oklahoma, and
they fuckin rocked the shit. Deadsy opened up, and, not sayin they were bad, but I was there simply for the
Tones, so i said "Fuck Deadsy, they got the key to Gramercy Park". haha.
I'll just get straight to it. Deftones came on in a drone of feedback and kicked it off w/ feiticeira. the only thing
that sucked about it was that stupid white trash mother fuckers started moshing, which is bullshit. how can
you enjoy a band when you got sweaty mother fuckers rubbin and pushin all over you. fuck that.
When i finally got out of the mosh pit, i missed all of feiticeira and half of digital bath.
the rest of the show went so damn smooth, sounded so good, no distractions for me.
I'm not sure the order of songs, but here's a rough recount of that heavenly hour and 20 min.
feiticeira
digital bath
be quiet and drive
my own summer
around the fur (w/ a "sexy back" interlude)
nosebleed
engine no. 9
beware
cherry waves
hole in the earth
rapture
root
change
elite

Pretty basic set up for the show but they had a nice eerie light show.
They did not play a single song off the self-titled album (sadly no "Hexagram").
Honestly, I think they felt out of place on the Taste of Chaos tour because they were just way more into
this show than any of the Taste of Chaos shows I saw. Chino was on par with his vocals. The last couple of
times I had seen them, they were pretty toned down (no pun intended) but I think after all the shit they are
just glad to have the new album done. They were just full of life. Anyways here is the set list:
Feiticeira
Digital Bath
Be Quiet & Drive
Around the Fur (sang some "sexyback" during the breakdown, very nice)
Passenger
Nosebleed
Engine #9
Beware
Elite
Street Carp
Cherry Waves (sounded oh so good)
Encore:
Hole in the Earth
Rapture (def the freakin highlight of the show. song is just insane live)
Change (Sounded a little different. Had more wicked/dark sounding guitar)
Root
